As
a descendant of the Huguenots of France, the generational
blessings of declaring the truth comes quite naturally to me. The Huey coat of arms has the following motto:
Demure Par La Verite, which is French for "declare the truth." This
is my inspirational heritage to admire, revere, and emulate. Like
others who have faced physical persecution, my forefathers tasted the flames of affliction with many losing their heads to
the sharp blades of the guillotine.
Thankfully,
my direct ancestors came to the American colonies in the 1700’s
and settled in Boone County, Kentucky with the early waves of
immigrants searching for religious freedom. For generations they were able to worship and serve God in the manner in which they were led. Family
names taken from the Bible etched in family records indicate that
the Scriptures were their source of enlightenment.
With great resolve to declare the truth on a variety of subjects,
I have created this column as an outlet for one
modern-day Huguenot to speak his mind on various topics from a Biblical
perspective. With
heartfelt gratitude for the faith and perseverance of those who
have gone before, “Hue & Cry” seeks to provoke the reader
to consider the claims pronounced so eloquently in the
Holy Writ.
Your
comments and questions regarding positions stated or argued are
welcome.
